She’s Got Lupus.

Lupus does not have her. A personal blog to raise awareness of the chronic autoimmune disease, Lupus.
My blog is focused on mental health as well as discussing Lupus related topics.

What is

Lupus

Lupus is a systemic autoimmune disease that occurs when your body’s immune system attacks your own tissues and organs. Inflammation caused by lupus can affect many different body systems — including your joints, skin, kidneys, blood cells, brain, heart and lungs. (mayoclinic.org)

How You Can Help

Lupus Awareness.

May is Lupus Awareness Month and on May 10, it is Put On Purple where we put on purple and share the photo along with why we want to raise awareness. I will post pictures friends have shared in the past.

Educate Yourself.

You don’t need to be an expert but taking time to read up a little on a friends condition can help you better understand what life is like for them.

Share the Lupus Story.

We can raise awareness simply by sharing our stories, share information about lupus on social platforms so others can learn about Lupus as well.

Living with Lupus

Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease. Autoimmune diseases are serious conditions that occur when your own immune system attacks your healthy cells. There is still no cure for lupus. Rosadela shares her every day struggle with Lupus and enlightens us about this mystery disease!

Hooper Mentality

Thankful to have sat down with Hooper Mentality founder Patty Medina and talked about Living with Lupus. I’m not comfortable talking about my issues (especially not on camera) BUT I learned sharing your story helps in the healing process so I’m stepping way out of my comfort zone here in hopes to help others come to terms with being diagnosed, to heal and accept help if needed.

Every year my family would participate in the Walk to End Lupus here in San Diego. Unfortunately due to COVID-19 this years walk has been postponed. I have teamed up with The Hoopers Mentality and proceeds from their purple/white hoodie will go to my walks fundraiser! If you want to join my team, heres the link.

  • Betrayed.
Summer used to be my favorite time of year. Beach trips, outside games, sunbathing. Nowadays though, summer is the season I fear the most. I’m forced to hide indoors thanks toContinue reading “Betrayed.”

I keep thinking I’m doing all of the work needed to improve who I am, but then one trigger can set me off and I’m brought back to the realization that I still have some ways to go. One thing that I thought I could brush over and never have to worry about was lettingContinue reading “Let go. Let God.”
